Forbidden Space is a 50's B-movie Sci-Fi RPG.
July, 1947: a radar operator in the American southwest spots an unidentified flying object. The UFO does not respond to attempts at radio communication. American fighter planes are scrambled to intercept. The pilots report seeing "a flying saucer."
Shortly thereafter, the strange craft opens fire on the fighters. They are forced to down the intruder. Subsequent investigation of the crash reveals the existence of extra-terrestrials. This information is kept from the public to prevent a panic.
July, 1957: ten years later, American scientists have reverse-engineered the alien technology and used old-fashioned American know-how to improve upon the basic design. America now has a craft capable of exploring outer space.
America's wise leaders know that the existence of aliens and the exploration of space are too big for any one nation. Despite the fallout of the second World War and the specter of international Communism, America has assembled a multinational crew of the world's finest soldiers, diplomats, and scientists.
